Strange file names

Your filenames are probably in some ISO encoding, and now you're looking at 
them in UTF-8.  I had the same problem, but since I only had one file with a 
foreign character in it, I just took the easy way out and changed the 
filename.

I think you want to run convmv to fix this.  I didn't bother with it myself, 
so have no first-hand knowledge.

You could also convert your locale back to one of the old non-UTF-8 ones.  I 
elected not to go that route, because it seems UTF-8 is the inevitable pull 
of the future.
