Not ime.  If your burner is seen as scsi, I've always had to add a udev
rule, but I can't get Scott to agree that it's correct so I can't get the
fix into udev :-(

If it's complaining about /dev/sg*, make sure that udev sets the owning
group of that device to cdrom.
