apt-get

hi all
my on going problem
rm /var/lock/rpm/transaction   no such file or directory
rm /var/lib/rpm/_db*     no such file or  directory
rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock   no such file or directory
and i still can't update ,this is a fresh installation ???
