This is a bug in either foomatic or Cups. You'll have to use the HPLIP
or similar driver selection besides the one you're picking. Here's
some info on your printer:

Personally, I wonder why this bug hasn't been fixed yet. Same error as
above with my HP LaserJet 6L. Very easy to replicate.
