Adept Notifier behavoiur

Dear list,

I was wondering how I could handle an unwanted update that is
constantly showing up in Adept Notifier.

I want to stay with the mplayer version installed in my system because
the update breaks something I need in mplayer (I made the update, but
then reverted to the old version because of this issue).

Having the Adept icon always showing up is quite annoying. Is there a
way to handle this problem?
