Q: How to install Acrobat Reader?

I did this. At first I thought it was working OK, but it isn't:

1. Every time I start acrobat, I get the following on the console:
  (acroread:8876): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in
module_path: "qtengine",

2. It also pops up a dialog box that says that it cannot initialize
the plug-in "PPKLite.api"

3. Despite these errors, documents can be viewed, but their aspect
ratio is wrong: they all look long and thin.

Is there anyone here running 64-bit Kubuntu who has actually got
acrobat working properly? It worked fine in Mdv, so it has to be
possible, but you can imagine that this is getting frustrating.
