Help! CUPS in Kubuntu is driving me crazy

Rob, doc, have you checked that the following file has the lines below:

/etc/network/interfaces

------------------------------------------------
lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
           inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
------------------------------------------------

I have an Epson C84 and this is what was missing after the Dapper 6.06 
installation. I also had to select gutenprint... and not foomatic...
