Hi. I'm experiencing a very frustrating problem with my Pioneer DVR-110D
DVD-RW, on Kubuntu Dapper Drake. Each and every time I try to read or
access a video OR data DVD, no matter which one, my whole system freezes and I
have to reboot. The problem does not occur with audio or data CDs. I tried
multiple configurations with hdparm but nothing works. Also, every DVD useful
package is installed (libdvdcss2, dvdread, dvdplay, etc.). Furthermore, I
googled a lot but with no luck.

Here's the result of hdparm:

# hdparm /dev/hdc:
/dev/hdc:
 IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  0 (off)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
 HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument

#hdparm -i /dev/hdc
/dev/hdc:

Anybody had similar problems? Everything seems OK to me, but I maybe missing
something.

Thanx in advance,
