i agree with you wholeheartedly and it's one reason why I would like to
see the Linux community work to get the apple filesystem supported for
devices such as these. it really pained me to be using the vfat format
for a number of reasons.
but i have to ask: i reformatted the ipod using a windows 2000 computer
(and the apple ipod updater software). would it be better to do the
format manually through ubuntu? would the disk be better utilized that way?
