PPPOE ADSL connection

Are you sure your ISP uses pppoe? My ADSL provider doesn't - which I didn't 
know until after I'd set up pppoe and tried to connect. It turned out that 
all I had to do was configure the ethernet connection to my ADSL modem to use 
DHCP (and disable pppoe).  What does the ISP's tech support say to do?
