Firefox amd64

I have been looking like crazy for a maintained build (1.5 or later) of
firefox that will support AMD64 arcitecture and continue to come up empty. I
have recently been told to compile my own but I am very green in that arena
and do not feel at all qualified for that adventure. If anyone can point me
in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I currently run Kubuntu 5.1 Breezy (amd64) but don't mind upgrading if that
is necessary.
