Altering the default umask in ubuntu/kubuntu

If that scheme works at all, it looks like you'd need to put it
somewhere else than the end of the file because that's after the
shutdown operations.  Probably somewhere before the "kwrapper" line.
Maybe the start of the file.

I suspect that /etc/login.defs file is the proper place to configure
umask, but it would take some studying.
