[Dapper] Network not starting

The exact message is "Starting Network Interface Plugging Daemon : 
Failed". And I to get network starting I a ve to do  :
sudo ifdown eth0
sudo ifup eth0

(If I only do a ifup eth0, I get a "This inerface is already configured" 
message).
