Repository Search (and Request)

Hi there,

Is there a way to search the web for (K)Ubuntu packages and the
repository they are in?

How does one request that an application be added to Kubuntu?  I have
been looking at the Codeine media player as it seems to play a huge
number of media formats including WMV and I had hoped someone might
already have it in a (K)Ubuntu repository that I could add.
