kernel re-compile, using standard kubutu options

This might be obvious, but:

If I'm following the kernel compile howto

will the default configuration match the kernel supplied with Kubuntu?

I'd like to ensure I get exactly the same kernel as comes with the
install cd (cause I know it works), plus the one tweak I want to make.
