No sound / dvd playback on my machine

Hi
Im looking for some help, I installed the latest version of Kubuntu
(looks very nice, runs very well!) . But at the moment it wont play any
cd's or dvds.
I have a creative sb audigy 2z5(wdm)  and Hauppage wintv pvr pci2 xxx .
Has anyone any suggestions on how to get them to work? Will I have to go
looking for drivers?
