[kubuntu-users] Some troubles with kubuntu

No I don`t know, but I think there is no difference ubuntu or kubuntu. I think 
it is usplash isuue. If I disable usplash I can type russian chars in console 
(boot->KDM->login to KDE->Ctrl+Alt+F1). With usplash enabled I`ve got crapy 
symbols instead.

I didn`t find anything relateted to my problem. Here is more detailed overview 
of my problem:

I know that 2.6.x has modules with .ko extension but there I`ve got .o like in 
2.4. I don`t know what is problem but with lirc packages from debian unstable 
everything works fine, however it is outdated too.
