the command "lsmod' will show  your modules.

We don't use the "scanner" kernel module as libusb is being used instead
of a kernel module in 2.6 kernels. A search on libusb in the ubuntu
forums gave a number of hits with more info, but not sure if any are
useful for your scanner. Mine works fine :( (but is a different type
anyway).
