Whiteout on Console Screen

Hi there,

Here's another I posted this onto the Hoary development forum...

I have an Acer Aspire 1523WLMi laptop, Athlon 64, 1GB RAM with a dual
DVD RW.  This also has an nVidia GeForce (5200 I think) video card.  I
have it all working, 3D accelerated etc.  If I press 'CTRL-ALT-F1' for
a console, I just get a white screen.  This happens on every console
accept F7 (the KDE desktop) and, if I start another session, F8.

While it's not a serious problem, I wondered why it was happening.  Is
this a feature of Ubuntu, or do you think it's because I'm using the
nVidia graphics drivers?
