xorg via driver for Unichrome

Hello,

Allmost all VIA mainboards with integrated graphics use KM400 (i386) or
K8M800 (amd64) family of chipsets with a Unichrome graphics engine in
the north bridge. All need the "via" driver (via_drv.o) or else they
work with the generic "vesa" driver at standard VESA resolutions at
60Hz (unaccelerated, of course).

In KubuntuPreviewComments I'm told that the via driver is included in
Hoary, but I'm still unable to find where it is.

I'm using a K8M800 (amd64) based mainboard and I've already installed
latest xserver-xorg_6.8.2-5.1, and I've actually got all the *_drv.o
drivers in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers except via_drv.o.

I've also done "apt-get update" followed by "apt-cache search" for the
keywords via, chrome, xorg, etc. and inspected the results in case the
via driver is shipped in another package. I'm still unable to find the
driver and currently my only options are either use the unaccelerated
generic vesa driver, or compile from the sources from
unichrome.sourceforge.net.

I don't know how the situation is on i386 side. Is there anyone here
using the via driver, or should I report this to bugzilla?

Thanks and regards,
