Hi,
I've got hoary on a 1.7Mhz machine that I upgraded to kubuntu as soon
as I saw the slashdot post...
in gnome, I was getting everything a ok, but as soon as kubuntu came
down, I could only get 640*480 and it wouldn't go any finer....
Any ideas?
I had a look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and various other files in that
area, but nothing would work - all the confs look ok, but no action...
I tried changing back to gdm (from kdm, where I'd gone on install) - I
didn't think this would work, but my internet was out, and I was
desperately trying anything...
the only thing I can think of is that it hasn't correctly detected the
moniter type (hp pavillion mx70)...it wouldn't be a wm issue, it's def
X, right? I did have to install xorg and some python stuff as
well...I'm iin the process of apt-get removing the xorg-common, and
I'll see how it goes....
cheers
Lachlan
