Could not find mime type

I seem to have a strange problem now. When ever I open
anything related to KDE for example Konqueror I get an
error message 

Could not find mime type
application/octet-stream
This comes in a new popup window

This started when I did some changes to the File
Association of .avi files. Anybody ever faced this
problem before. After this error starting my login
music is also not playing..
