can't install kubuntu

I have had the same problem with the "configuring apt" stage - it seems 
that the installer is unable to connect to the repositories for some 
reason. However, it DOES time-out (after about 20+ mins iirc for each 
stage), and after that the installation proceeds normally. I found also 
that the repositories set up in sources.list ("uk.archive.ubuntu.com") 
had to be changed to the US servers to work.
