Talking of which - I am using GDM at the moment. I want to install/use
KDM but it has dependencies on kubuntu-default-settings which I do not want.

Is there any way I can work around this or not. If not is there
somewhere/someone I can ask to get it changed..?

More to the point why is KDM depending on Kubuntu's default settings?
