3 Questions: Startup, AmaroK, Kontact backup

Beats me.  I find amaroK inscrutable :-)  I'm still trying to figure it out.

Not _one_.  ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc (address book),
~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer (calendar & todos - _probably_: you can move
them) and (again, probably) ~/Mail and/or ~/Maildir and/or
even /var/spool/mail/$USER for mail.
