Again, if this is simply a brainstorm session, I could agree with you on this. 
On important, and official business the extra time to type things also involves 
thought and consideration, so imo the 'wasted" aspect is not totally accurate. 

Impatience is not enough reason to forgo a logged and accessible meeting,
