"Kubuntu is an operating system built by a worldwide team of expert
developers."

I've never been a fan of this, it's a bit as the other poster said, a meaningless statement and it doesn't emphasise our selling point of being a friend community.  How about this?

"Kubuntu is an operating system built by a worldwide community of
developers, testers, supporters and translators."
