What does LTS *actually* mean

I was just wondering. What does LTS mean? In terms of supporteeness?...
If I file a bug against 12.04 LTS, does that bug get special treatment
because it affects LTS?
If it doesn't, what properties decide whether a bug in 12.04 would get
a fix at all?
If the software I reported a bug against was removed from after 12.04,
what happens to my bug?
Are there reasons why a bug (not wish) would get a fix for 12.04 even
when the software was removed afterwards?
If the software still is in use and a bug is fixed in a future version
(say 14.04), does that fix get SRUd?
Are there circumstances when such a fix would not get SRUd?
If my bug was fixed in a future version but through an unknown set of
(upstream) changes, what will happen to my bug?
Who is in charge of tracking LTS bugs?
Is there a time frame within which I should get a reply to my LTS bug report?
If I don't get a reply to my LTS bug, what am I supposed to do?
