Crashes in QtDeclarative continue with 13.10

Hi,
hoping this is the right way to contact the Kubuntu QA team besides
using Launchpad.
There were several QtDeclarative problems in earlier Qt versions, that
could cause crashes with KDE Plasma and other KDE applications that
make use of QML features.
As far as I understand, Ubuntu used patches in Qt to address these
problems. With later updates to Qt, these patches did the reverse:
they caused crashes, that were fixed upstream, see KDE bug 302931 and
Launchpad bug 1200523.
According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/1200523/comments/172 these should have been fixed by
reverting some of the patches.
Unfortunately, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302931 is still
reported for (K)ubuntu 13.10.
There was no answer to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/1200523/comments/205 so I am trying this list.
This is currently the most reported bug we get in the KDE bug tracker,
see
https://bugs.kde.org/duplicates.cgi?sortby=delta&reverse=1&maxrows=10&changedsince=60
What can be done to help resolving this issue? Do unpatched Qt 4.8.5
PPA's exist for directing reporters there for testing?
Thanks,
Christoph Feck
