About message indicator and launchers

Then why bypass the existing KDE interfaces on the KDE desktop?

The specs for the visual part were obviously designed for GNOME and gave no 
consideration to how the existing KDE system was displayed and now the KDE 
version has to look exactly like what GNOME needed while dismissing what KDE 
has developed.

What happend to Kubuntu being a KDE distribution?
