OK, here is another one. But first a remark about my previous test
report. When I checked for a new k3b version today, I saw that there
was also a new version of libk3b6. I'm quite sure I didn't update that
package for the previous test but only k3b and k3b-data. I'm sorry if
that was the reason for the crash when I tried to create a new data
project. And if that was the reason, maybe the k3b package should have
a dependency of the libk3b6 package including the required version.
So here is my report for k3b version 1.0.5+kde4svn945702-0ubuntu2~ppa1
and the same version for the k3b-data and libk3b6 packages. My DVD
writer is a NEC DVD_RW ND-6750A, system is Jaunty i386.
* Cursor issue:
I select an arbitrary folder except my home folder for file selection.
Then I quit k3b and start it again. Now the last selected folder is
active again but the cursor is spinning just as if k3b was busy. The
cursor only becomes the standard arrow again if I select my home
folder - or at least that is the only way I found.
* New data project
I added one file (250kB) to the project and try to start burning to a
non-empty DVD+RW with default settings. After the message that it
starts burning, k3b no longer reacts to any input but uses 98% CPU.
If I select "no multisession" or "start multisession" instead
of "automatic" it is the same with the small file but with a bigger
file of 60MB / 132MB the burning procedure starts and k3b stops
updating the progress info at 48MB / 120MB and uses 98% CPU again.
However the file is burned correctly to the medium. If I use an even
bigger file of 545MB the burning procedure succeeds.
* Burn image:
Burning to DVD+RW or CR-RW is OK but verify doesn't work. K3b seems to
waiting for the result of another process. The elapsed time display is
updated but there is no more progress update. If I select "cancel", k3b
asks if I want to cancel and then still waits with the elapsed time
display still updating but the cancel button is greyed out and I have
to kill k3b. This is the end of ~/.kde/share/apps/k3b/lastlog.log:
[K3b::DataTrackReader] reading sectors 0 to 278607 with sector size
2048. Length: 278608 sectors, 570589184 bytes.
[K3b::DataTrackReader] using buffer size of 64 blocks.
[K3b::DataTrackReader] Error while writing to IO device. Current sector
is 0.
[K3b::DataTrackReader] Read a total of 64 sectors (131072 bytes)
* New audio CD:
Burning 2 tracks to CD-RW with default settings OK.
* Erase CD-RW:
OK.
