This is probably a bit overbearing for my first post, but I've written a bit
about the Kubuntu logo, which in it's current state, is a modified version
of the Ubuntu logo with 8-teeth "KDE gears" substituted for the circles --
or "heads" in the ubuntu logo.
I like the logo (I support the project by buying tshirts, so I proudly wear
it) but I wanted to offer some constructive criticism to it.
Is this the right channel for that? I see the mailing lists are divided
into three groups, and this did not fall into Support or Documentation.
Well, without re-typing my ideas, I'll offer the following links that
explain my thoughts on the use of the eight-sided gear, and some suggestions
around a new six-tooth gear while being worked into a simpler logo. First
link is the Ubuntu forums, second is KDE-look.org, third is a blogger post,
all saying about the same thing.
Here's the ideas:
Again, sorry to be overbearing on my first post, but I am a developer by
profession, so I think I can offer to the project in more ways than just
logos. If this is the wrong forum for this type of discussion, please
direct me to the correct one!
