I'm trying to rebuild the kernel packages from the source package
(linux-source-2.6.17_2.6.17.1.orig.tar.gz). I'm using this command:

dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -us

after about 4 hours, it fails with this message:

install -p -m 644 ./debian/templates.master
dpkg-gencontrol -DArchitecture=i386 -isp \
dpkg-gencontrol: error: package linux-image-2.6.17-kdump not in control info
make[2]: *** [debian/linux-image-2.6.17-kdump] Error 255
make[2]: Leaving directory
make[1]: *** [binary/linux-image-2.6.17-kdump] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory
make: *** [binary-debs] Error 2

Q1: Anyone know how to fix this and get this to work?
Q2: I actually just want the generic kernel, not all the others (ie
kdump). Anyone know if there's a command to just build the -generic?
