Status of printing?

Today I tried printing setup with an up2date Kubuntu dapper.

I did install an networked HP2420 successfully. After selecting the
postscript "driver" in that wizard I received this message:

Though I did try print a test page and it works.

I am not sure what package is at fault here. I didn't remember entering
a password to configure the printer. With "postscript" you don't need a
driver per se.

Very confusing.

When I am printing from Firefox, in the print preview the Paper size
"Letter" is selected. Wrong, it should be A4 by default. Also Color is
defaultly set to "Color" instead of greyscale, as the printer is B&W.
