Problem with configure and installing documentation files

I am compiling documentation for KDE from sources and ./configure is
setting installation path for documentation to:
/usr/share/doc/HTML/{LANG}
while KDE documentation, which is used, is in:
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/{LANG}

For me it looks like Kubuntu is using non-standard path for docs, but
maybe it is ./configure fault? Why it was chosen to use such path and
how to fix it, so that docs were installed properly?
