We can add the fact that kynaptic seems to not evolve any more. I've send a 
few patches a few weeks ago and no response from the authors. On the mailing 
list of synaptic, only Michael Vogt seems actived as a Maintainer and he is 
working with GTK not Qt. Gustavo Niemeyer which seems to be the one working 
on kynaptic does not seem to still work on it.
