Ivman might be the solution for automounting

This looks really slick! Notice the photos toward the bottom of the
page, showing the KDE hardware event notification. The HAL/D-bus/Ivman
combo is already being used by CCux Linux.

I hope this isn't too last-minute, but I really think it looks like a
good option for kubuntu.  Automounting is often THE reason why people
pick a distro, and lack of it is often what makes people leave Linux
quickly after trying it.
