I managed to get around the problem, basically it was enough to avoid
the Ubuntu login credentials by logging in directly to the system and
then it was possible to access the online accounts, I discovered this
because I tried a guest session and the accounts were available, now
I've put the login back on startup and the system works fine, it remains
to be seen whether it's an Ubuntu/gnome error or a credential problem on
my computer
