Source package: okular: /usr/bin/okular - following the guideline
1 ---- The release of Ubuntu you are using
lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
Release: 20.04
2 ---- The version of the package
apt-cache policy okular:
Installed: 4:19.12.3-2ubuntu1
3 ---- What you expected to happen
Okular should display special language characters (in this case
hungarian)
4 ---- What happened instead
Some characters made no sense, replaced with symbols or special ASCII
characters.
Additional details:
- I pixelated parts of the document that affect my privacy.
- Someone suggested to apt-get install fonts-noto-core, but it is
already up to date.
- Someone also suggested to attempt using mupdf and it displayed the
characters properly.
- In Okular, while the PDF is opened I click on properties and click on
the Fonts tab and it has three columns:
Name: Arial-BoltMT (substituting with Liberation Sans Bold), ArialMT (substituting with DejaVu Sans
Type: CID TrueType, CID TrueType
File: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/liberation/LiberationSans-Bold.ttf, /usr/share/fonts/truetype/dejavu/DejaVuSans.ttf
