Workaround:
1. Install ubiquity-frontend-gtk;
2. Edit the "Install Kubuntu" shortcut. In the command field, instead of "ubiquity kde_ui", put "ubiquity gtk_ui".
Done!
Wouldn't switching to Calamares solve this problem?
