[Bug 1797691] [NEW] Desktop freezes

Public bug reported:

kubuntu 18.04 desktop regularly freezes. Mouse cursor still moving, but
no reaction to mouse buttons or keyboard keys. Display doesn't update
anymore (besides the moving cursor).

All packages are up-to-date. Crashes become frequent since Qt is updated
to 5.11.2 (installed to /opt) less or no crashes were observed with
previous version (5.9)

How to reproduce:
Start Qt Creator, open a project
Start build then stop prematurely: desktop crashes
Or Start debug mode, sometimes crashes on breakpoint or on stopping the debug

Today I had 4 crashes in half an hour with the upper method on my machine (AMD Ryzen 2700X, Vega64).
This machine never crashed before with Qt 5.9
Office machine (Ryzen 1800X, GeForce 1070) sometimes crashes with Qt 5.9. Since disabling skype those crashes are less frequent.
