[Bug 1718659] [NEW] kate/kdevelop crashes with newline

Public bug reported:

An update few days ago, i.e., going to version
5.38.0-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.04~ppa1
broke Kate/Kdevelop. In particular, entering a new line most of the time results in a crash.
