I still have this slow-down-when-typing problem in Kile. 
Kubuntu 17.04, Plasma 5.9.4, "Kate Part Version 3.7 Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.30"

BTW should the fix option be "-graphicssystem raster" or "--
graphicssystem raster"? At least when there is a single "-", I am still
experiencing the slowdown.
