[Bug 1492593] [NEW] Misalignment of items in drop-down menus

Public bug reported:

The items in certain menus are not aligned properly. As shown in the
accompanying screenshot, some icons occupy too much space and displace
the accompanying text. Either the icons should be all the same size or
they should be contained in a separate fixed-width column.
