I ran this from real HW (sorry, different computer this morning, so it
is not installed).

apt-cache policy open-vm-tools-desktop
open-vm-tools-desktop:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 2:9.4.6-1770165-8ubuntu1
  Version table:
     2:9.4.6-1770165-8ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/main i386 Packages

Do you know the equivalent command in Fedora? Perhaps there is a
different version of open-vm-tools-desktop there?
