Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 14.04 installed on x86_64 PC hardware.

Starting amarok from the CLI and I get:

I've searched around a bit and tried the work-arounds listed such as
changing to phonon-backend-vlc from phonon-backend-gstreamer to no
avail.
