[Bug 1449799] [NEW] no window or icon on kgpg startup

Public bug reported:

1) open commandline, enter "kgpg"
2)  it prints

but 
i) no icon exists (usually kgpg has some kind of an icon in the menu bar?)
ii) no window is brought up / alt-tab doesn't reveal any kgpg window 
iii) it's not evident that kgpg is running at all, except that there is a process in the background
