[Bug 1299887] [NEW] knotes launches but "New Note" doesn't do anything

Public bug reported:

I did a fresh install of the daily image (downloaded 3/25/2014).  I've
been updating/rebooting to the latest bits.  I didn't attempt to migrate
anything from my 13.10 installation - no artifacts from my previous kde.

I start up knotes (alt-f2 knotes) and the icon shows up in the panel.
Right click on the panel icon, select "New Note" and nothing happens.
Attempting to use New From Clipboard also doesn't do anything.
