Public bug reported:

Operating system: Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop 64-bit
Choqok version: 1.4
Processor: Dual-core 2GHz AMD CPU

Problem summary:
When starting Choqok, the application requires 100% of my CPU for approximately two minutes before the user interface becomes visible. Unless the user is monitoring system processes, there is no indication Choqok has started. Further, when Choqok is syncing/downloading information, the interface locks up, sometimes for several seconds. This gives the impression Choqok has crashed, though the interface eventually becomes responsive again.

Expect behavoir: Choqok should probably display its user interface
immediately upon starting up. Sync operations should not make the
application unresponsive.

Suggested solution: Choqok should probably perform sync operations in a
separate thread, especially during start-up. Otherwise it appears as
though the application has simply faield to start... until the window
appears a few minutes later.

Reproducable: Every time Choqok starts.

** Affects: choqok (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
