Muon packages have been upgraded, from 2.0.65+git20131008-0ubuntu4 to
2.1.0-0ubuntu0.1, so hopefully this bug is now fixed. I can't find any
details on Launchpad, though.

Agree, I now have 2.1.0-0ubuntu0.1 and the problem is unchanged. Updater
says system is up to date, but package manager and notifier both
correctly show available updates.
